
PANEL
(Positive Aspects of Non-formal Education and Learning) intends to
promote life long learning and especially the non-formal education for
offenders, ex-offenders and tutors and enhance the potential of
individuals who are partially excluded from society, in order to
encourage learners to feel positive about educational progress and
increase their chances for social reintegration.
The main objectives of the project are:
- To explore different processes of addressing inclusion through non-formal education for offenders and ex-offenders in different cultures in Europe, especially in Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Scotland, Norway and Denmark for a period of three years.
- To involve the staff and the learners in a dynamic formative process across Europe.
The target group:
- Offenders and ex-offenders; people with physical and social disadvantages;
- Tutors, educators, staff involved in working with offenders and ex-offenders in each country
The main activity consists of exchange of experiences, staff mobility exchanging good practices and methodology in order to explore different ways of addressing non-formal learning for offenders and ex-offenders in each country. Special emphasis will be placed on art education in prisons.
Envisaged results
- To achieve a better understanding of the positive aspects of non-formal education and learning for offenders and those who work with them;
- To find a shared understanding of the complexity and benefits of non-formal education and what it means for our learners and tutors in order to sustain their social reintegration.
