Purpose: To promote the human rights, justice independence and the reform of the judiciary reform through complementary measures.
Particular objectives:
- To raise awareness about the advantages of complementary measures
amongst the involved institutions in laying down and execution of the
sentences with complementary measures, with the view to extend their
appliance on a larger scale in Bucharest
- To protect the rights of young offenders by demonstrating the
efficiency of the complementary measures, which is to be carried out
during a research- action experiment in Bucharest
- A growing level of implication of the community in young offenders justice administration
Target Group
- Magistrates in Bucharest – judges, prosecutors in the district law courts and tribunals
- Probation counselors – The Probation Service
- Inspectors – the Probation Directorate
- Social workers – from the specialized directorates of the city hall
- Minor and young offenders who are to be sentenced with a complementary measure
Activities
- To develop a discussion and action group made up of representatives
of the Court of Bucharest, of the district law courts, of the
Prosecutor’s Office, of the Probation Service, of the General
Directorates of the Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC)
- Exchange of experience between experts in Belgium and Romania
- The implementation of the pilot experiment “research and action”
- Releasing the information materials and brochures
