C.R.E.D. (The Romanian Center for Education and Human Development) is developing the project “The New Law of Sentences execution – between the Theory and Practice “through the PHARE Project 2005.

Venue: Bucharest, with the impact to the national level, in the framework of all the country’s detention centers

Period of caring out the project: December 2007- October 2008

Partners: The National Administration of the Prisons, Angel Association

The Purpose of the Project: - promoting the completion of the judiciary system, especially the Law 275/2006 of sentences execution

The Objectives of the project – The setting up of a unitary system of understanding and appliance of the new law of sentences execution in the prisons in Romania; protecting the right of the offenders and their families, who have contacts with the criminal system and the new law of the sentences execution; stimulation of the active participation of the civil society, especially the NGOs, in order to supporting the completion of the new law of sentences execution.

The activities of the project: the setting up of the handy standards for the appliance of the Law 275; meetings with the professionals; drawing up and disseminating information materials for the prisons’ personnel and offenders; organizing permanent information sessions among the offenders; monitoring the law appliance; involving the NGOs in specific activities – meetings, monitoring of the completion of the Law 275, educative, curative, instructive-educational activities.
